What this site is
Toss It Right answers one boring, everyday question: how do I get rid of this thing where I live? Each guide covers one item in one place, like a mattress in Orlando, and puts every legitimate option side by side: free curbside pickup, donation, drop-off, and paid hauling.
Where the facts come from
- Official sources first. Pickup rules, set-out times, limits, hours and fees come from the city, county or facility's own website: for example orlando.gov, ocfl.net, and the published landfill fee schedule.
- Charities and businesses from their own pages. Donation rules, addresses and hours come from the organization's official site.
- No invented facts. If an official source doesn't say something, we don't fill the gap with a guess. Each guide has a "What we couldn't verify" section listing open questions. We don't use other commercial blogs as sources.
- Every guide links its sources, with a note on what each one was used for, so you can check the original.
"Last verified" dates
Each guide shows a Last verified date. That's the date we last re-read every listed source and confirmed the facts on the page still match. Fees and schedules change (Orange County, FL changed its collection days in December 2025, and its disposal rates changed on October 1, 2026). Always confirm with the official contact listed on the page before you rely on a fee or a date.
How we make money
Some guides include a booking box for a junk-removal or hauling service. If a partner pays us a referral fee, we'll disclose it on the page where it appears. Partnerships never change what the free and official options say. Free options are always listed first. No paid partnerships are active today. Any booking box you see is a labelled placeholder.
Corrections
Rules change. If you find something out of date, compare it with the linked official source. The official source wins.
